A guide on getting started with OctoPrint and Fabra.
A guide on getting started with OctoPrint and Fabra.
Fabra makes 3d printers easier to use and network. With our software, users can remotely view & control their printers, check statuses, manage files and much more! Our goal is to make 3d printing more accessible and expand access to other forms of advanced manufacturing. Currently we only support OctoPrint compatible printers through our OctoPrint plugin. We will soon support Klipper and other 3D printing softwares.
OctoPrint is an open source 3D printing software used to provide a web interface for connected 3D printers. It also gives our software the information we need to display to your app.
You will need the following things:
1. 3D Printer
2. Raspberry Pi/Computer
3. 4GB (or higher) SD card (if using Raspberry Pi)
4. Internet connection
If you are going to be using a Raspberry Pi for OctoPrint, we recommend using OctoPrint’s official download and setup guide. (https://octoprint.org/download/). If you are going to use a mini-PC or some other Windows machine we recommend using this guide: (https://community.octoprint.org/t/setting-up-octoprint-on-windows/383) to install OctoPrint.
To install the Fabra plugin, open the settings menu for OctoPrint by clicking the wrench icon in the upper right. On the Plugin Manager screen is a big button that says "Get More...". Enter "Fabra" in the search bar and click "Install" and you're all set!
OctoPrint is compatible with most of the popular 3D printers on the market. Check out this list to see if your printer is compatible: https://community.octoprint.org/t/printers-known-to-work-not-work/21147
